Colouring Cream

Caring Shampoo

The included caring shampoo may contain cleansing and conditioning ingredients such as sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, dimethicone, sodium chloride, conditioning polymers, fragrance and other formula-specific ingredients.

Nourishing Mask or Conditioner

The after-colour treatment may contain conditioning ingredients such as amodimethicone, cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, glycerin, panthenol, sodium PCA, hydrolyzed wheat protein and other conditioning agents.

How to Use

How to Use L’Oreal Excellence 1 Black

Always read the instruction leaflet included inside the box before application.

1. Perform an allergy alert test 48 hours before colouring, even if you have used hair colour products before.
2. Cover your shoulders with an old towel and wear the supplied protective gloves.
3. Apply the protective serum if it is included in your specific package.
4. Pour the colouring cream into the developer bottle.
5. Close the bottle and shake thoroughly until the mixture becomes even.
6. Twist off the applicator tip immediately to help prevent pressure build-up or product overflow.
7. Apply the mixture to dry, unwashed hair. Start at the roots and then distribute the product through the lengths and ends.
8. Make sure the hair is fully saturated with the colour mixture.
9. Leave the colour on for approximately 30 minutes, or follow the exact timing stated in your package leaflet. For root touch-ups, the recommended time may be shorter.
10. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.
11. Use the included caring shampoo or post-colour treatment if provided.
12. Apply the nourishing mask or conditioner, leave it on for the recommended time and rinse thoroughly.
13. Use the after-colour mask weekly if recommended by the product instructions.

Important Safety Information

• Do not use on children under 16.
• Do not colour your hair if you have a rash on your face or an irritated, sensitive or damaged scalp.
• Do not use if you have previously experienced a reaction to hair colour or temporary black henna.
• The product contains hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and oxidative hair colourants.
• Avoid contact with the eyes and do not use it to colour eyelashes or eyebrows.
• Rinse immediately with plenty of water if the product enters the eyes.
• Wait at least two weeks after using a relaxer, perm or straightening treatment.
• Do not use on hair previously coloured with henna or progressive colourants.
• If your hair is long or thick, you may need two boxes for complete coverage.
• Black permanent colour can be difficult to lighten later, so consider the shade carefully before application.
